Week 11 MLS Picks
After some big single week swings over the last month, Week 10 was relatively tame. We dipped ever so slightly into the red on the season, but remain undeterred. The official league injury report came out this afternoon so let’s jump into the Week 11 picks.
Inter Miami
ML -125
We’re on record multiple times since the preseason singing the praises of the New York Red Bulls. But we can’t go away from Inter Miami in this spot. Jordi Alba will sit once again, but when all of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, Julian Gressel, and Leo Campana are available for selection, they should simply be heavier favorites than this at home.
If you want to get a little spicy (and of course, we do), you can parlay Inter Miami to win and over 3.5 goals scored at +270 odds. We’re going to sprinkle a half unit on that as well with how often their matches turn into shootouts. In fact, Inter Miami matches have seen four or more goals in 11 of 15 games across all competitions this season.
LAFC
ML +120
LAFC aren’t the same caliber of team as they’ve been over the past two seasons, but they’re still well clear of this San Jose side. At some point the Quakes are going to some wins, especially after the team made a club record $6 million signing last week in the form of Hernán López. But that’s not likely to start this weekend against the Black & Gold, even at home. LAFC to win.
FC Dallas
ML +220
Going to take a bit of a swing here with Austin’s rivals to the north. Jesus Ferriera is finally off the injury report completely for FC Dallas, while Toronto is still missing a number of starters including Lorenzo Insigne and Richie Laryea. Don’t expect this one to look pretty, but we do expect Frisco to right the ship a touch against Toronto on Saturday.
Chicago Fire
ML -105
Don’t confuse this Chicago team for a contender, but the trio of Brian Gutierrez, Kellyn Acosta and Andrew Gutman are back active for the Fire this week, while the Revolution continue to limp along holding the wooden spoon through 10 weeks. New England will also be without a number of regular contributors. Chicago to defend home turf.
