Week 20 MLS Picks
Back to back winning weeks is always nice, but we’ve still got work to do to get out of the red on the season after last month’s downturn. The official league injury report came out this afternoon, let’s get into the Week 20 picks.
Portland Timbers

The Timbers are quietly one of the hottest teams in the Western Conference, taking 14 of the last 21 available points and currently sit in the seventh seed, ahead on wins over Houston and Austin. The Whitecaps will be well rested after they had a bye in the midweek, but an in-form Portland in Providence Park at plus money? Evander has been cooking. We’ll take that and keep it moving.
FC Dallas
DNB +450
Now that they’re as healthy as they can be with respect to a trio of season-long injuries, FC Dallas is in the midst of their best three game stretch of the league season, taking seven of the last nine available points. They’re rightful road underdogs at Seattle tomorrow, but these odds are too high against a Sounders squad that has been equally inconsistent. We’ll take the draw no bet option on our rivals to the north.
Austin FC vs Minnesota United
U 2.5 (+135)
Our beloved Verde and Black have only managed one road win in nine tries so far this season, but those nine matches went under this number seven times. Austin has been largely successful at mucking things up away from home. Setting aside the five-goal disaster-class against RSL three weeks ago, ATX has only conceded one goal per game on the road across the other eight away matches. We’ll lean into the idea that this match will be similarly paced on Saturday at plus money.
