Week 12 MLS Picks
It’s been two quiet weeks in terms of results, and we remain just below even on the season. We’re hoping to not get too caught up in the emotion of rivalry week that we push things too far. The official league injury report came out this afternoon so after a few deep breaths let’s get to the Week 12 picks.
Inter Miami

Just as we began last week’s article, Inter Miami occupies the top spot. They’ll be north of the border this weekend taking on CF Montreal, a team that has eight players (including their top three striker options) listed as out. There are no changes to Miami’s inactive list after last week’s 6-2 victory over New York Red Bulls. The fact they’re this close to even odds to take home three points on Saturday feels like a steal. Two unit play on Inter Miami.
Nashville SC

Going to jump on the Nashville bandwagon while it’s ascending. They beat up on CF Montreal last week, securing a 4-1 home victory. Now they’re on the road at Charlotte FC, who will be without both of their DPs, as Liel Abada has a thigh injury and Enzo Copetti appears to be on his way out. Nashville has listed Walker Zimmerman as questionable after he started and played 68 minutes against Montreal. We can’t find anything online to indicate that designation is anything more than a precaution. They’re also nearing the return of Shaq Moore and Tyler Boyd. Going to take Nashville to win for some road value this week.
LA Galaxy

The Galaxy are back to full health, with Dejan Jovelič coming off of the injury report and Riqui Puig returning from yellow card suspension. They’ll host the current top team in the Western Conference, Real Salt Lake. No disrespect to RSL, they aren’t the latest team “overperforming their underlying numbers,” they’re a dangerous team that should end up in the top half of the conference by season’s end. But the margins with them through 11 games are thin. We expect LA to return to form offensively at home on Saturday night after a couple of weeks on the road
