Week 18 MLS Picks

Like our beloved Austin FC, we took a notable downturn prior to the international break. Three straight losing weeks has us in our worst spot in more than two months. But we’re refreshed after the bye week and ready to get into the second half of the MLS season. The official league injury report came out this evening, let’s jump into the Week 18 picks.

New York Red Bulls

ML -135

The Red Bulls will see Carlos Coronel and Lewis Morgan absent this weekend for international duty, but with the likes of Emil Forsberg, Dante Vanzeir and John Tolkin ready to go we like them to take down Nashville. The visitors will be without their own trio of international players in Shaq Moore, Jacob Shaffelburg and Anibal Godoy. Red Bulls to get it done at home.

Real Salt Lake

ML +110

Although Real Salt Lake’s injury report is far from unblemished, Montreal remains decimated by injury. They’ll continue to be without the services of Mathieu Choinière, Josef Martinez, Ariel Lassiter and Raheem Edwards. To make matters worse, they’ll also be without captain Samuel Piette for international duty trying to fend off the Western Conference leaders. It’s time to jump on the RSL train.

FC Cincinnati

ML +145

The reigning Supporter’s Shield winners are on the road for a date with the Quakes. Although they’ll be without Miles Robinson and Corey Baird, Cincinnati are still rightful plus-money favorites in this one. San Jose is the spoon leader for a reason, we’ll take this line and run.

Austin FC

ML +425

The Verde & Black are the biggest underdogs on the Saturday slate. Should they be? Maybe. Are we going to take that as a sign of disrespect and put a half unit on our boys pulling out the victory to begin the second half of the regular season? Of course we are.
