Week 35 MLS Picks
It all comes down to this. Decision Day is upon us and our ultimate goal of a profitable full-season of MLS picks is within our grasp. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, it ain’t over ‘til it’s over. We’ve still got a job to do. The official league injury report for Saturday’s games came out Friday afternoon, let’s dive into the Week 35 picks.
DC United
ML -120
We’re going to lean in to some of the playoff-clinching scenarios around the league today and start in the nation’s capital. DC United can clinch a wild card spot with a win or draw, but a win and not giving up the three goal advantage they have in differential over CF Montreal would give them hosting duties for next week’s Eastern Conference wild card game. Christian Benteke is also likely to clinch the golden boot when the dust settles on Saturday, and we’ll ride with DC United to leave no doubt and beat Charlotte at home.
CF Montreal
ML +205
As mentioned above, CF Montreal are tied on points with DC United and behind on goal differential tiebreaker. They’ll clinch a wild card spot with a win or draw today against NYCFC, a team that is decidedly more talented. But the Montreal crowd is typically a raucous one and with their boys in blue playing to extend their season tonight, we’ll take the home team (who has an empty injury report for good measure) to grab all three points at plus money.
LA Galaxy
ML +215
We might blow the near double-digit unit lead we have on breaking even for the season on Saturday, but no matter how things shake out for our bankroll tonight we’re going out with two middle fingers pointed right at Houston. The Galaxy can clinch the top seed in the Western Conference and home field advantage throughout the first three rounds with a win or draw on the road at the Dynamo. Fuck Houston, LA Galaxy to win on the road.
Austin FC
ML +105
We won’t let our fandom stop us there. After multiple weeks avoiding our favorite team, we’re going back on Decision Day. Austin FC will see 18-year-old Adam Beaudry making his first team debut in net for the Rapids in place of the injured Zack Steffen. If the home team can put one past the kid early, we could see the floodgates open. Hopium? Maybe. But we’re riding with the Verde & Black to end the year with a victory.
Goal Scorers
Every week we’ll pick a few of our favorite goal scoring options in the betting market. Here are the Week 34 shouts.
