Well, we’ve got a website. We’re not quite sure what we’ll do with it in the future, but we can say what it means for you, our listeners, right now!
When you come to the site, you’ll be able to find all of The North End Podcast content you’ve been used to over the first 18 months of our project, including our most recent episodes and links to our various social media accounts. We’ve had a lot of fun evolving our content to this point and look forward to continuing to entertain and inform our fellow fans with the preseason crumbs, matchday injury updates, media coverage (from the outside looking in) and more. We also hope you’ve noticed and enjoyed the visual upgrades we’ve made across our number of platforms during the 2024 preseason. With any luck, your social media of choice is on the list of sites we participate on. If not, let us know where we should show up next!
But it’s not just more of the same going forward, we’re also bringing a few new content wrinkles to the table for 2024. First, you’ll be able to read preview articles for each Austin FC match this season, posted a few days before each game, with necessary updates to sections like the injury report right up until kickoff (or until the boys head to Q2 for the night). We hope that these articles can provide an extra bit of flavor to your pre-game digest.
One of our goals on the show is to educate the fanbase (and ourselves) on the complicated roster rules & regulations, including the salary cap, that govern this crazy league of ours. So next, we’re making our roster and salary cap sheets available to the public. If you’re a listener, you know that we use these spreadsheets nearly every episode to help inform how we feel about the direction of the team. Those who have been watching along on the YouTube channel get a grainy look at what we’re referencing during these segments, but we want to do as much as we can to “spread the gospel” on team building under the MLS roster rules to the best of our ability.
So, it’s time to give every Austin FC fan the capability to have these references ready to go at a moment’s notice. At the top of the site menu, you can click on “Cap Sheets” and be redirected to a view-only version of our collection of spreadsheets detailing the following.
