Week 17 MLS Picks

Boy did we get cooked in the midweek. Our worst round of picks in well over a month and we’ve slipped back into the red. A good bounce back spot on the weekend to get back on the good side of even as the halfway mark of the season looms. The official league injury report came out this evening, let’s get to the Week 17 picks.

Inter Miami

To Win & O 2.5 (-115)

Messi and friends are expected to be available on short rest in this one after dropping points to Atlanta United on Wednesday. One small bump in the road isn’t going to deter us from continuing to ride the Inter Miami train. We’re expecting their high scoring offense to get back on track at home.

FC Dallas

DNB +600

We’re going to put a half unit on our rivals to the north on Saturday. Pretty much just off principal that almost no team should be +750 to win in this league in the middle of a double game week where both teams are on their third game in eight days. We’ll go with the “draw no bet” option at six to one to limit our risk a bit. Dallas will be without Nkosi Tafari, who was red carded on Wednesday and subsequently fined by the league. But these odds are too tasty for a squad that boasts a duo like Jesus Ferreira (who is off the injury report) and Petar Musa.

LA Galaxy

ML +150

Joseph Paintsil remains out for the Galaxy and he’ll be joined on the sidelines by Gaston Brugman on Saturday. But the lowly Fire are also shorthanded, without guys like Xherdan Shaqiri (which might be addition by subtraction) and Andrew Gutman. The talent disparity between these two clubs, even considering the inactives, is stark. LA to win.
