The official league injury report came out this afternoon, let’s get into the Week 22 picks.
FC Cincinnati

The defending Supporter’s Shield champions are rolling right along, sitting on 42 points from their 20 games behind only Inter Miami’s 44 from 21 games. They travel to the nation’s capital to take on DC United, whose form has been the exact opposite of late, winless in their last nine league matches. Christian Benteke will be suspended for this one and Cincy are the best road team in the league, with 25 points from 10 matches. The Orange & Blue to win.
San Jose Earthquakes

The Quakes have 11 points on the season and are the wooden spoon leaders through 20 matches. They’ll take on St. Louis City on the road on Wednesday, a team that’s just three spots above them in the Supporter’s Shield standings. City will be without seven key players in this one, including Klauss and Célio Pompeu. San Jose on the other hand, have underperformed their xGA by a whopping 17.8 goals. They’re still a terrible defense, with an xGA of 36.2 that only CF Montreal can top at the moment, but 17.8 goals? The next highest number league wide is 9.2 for Sporting KC! With all the absences for St. Louis, their attack could be lacking its typical bite. San Jose can also score in bunches, with a front line that boasts Hernan Lopez, Christian Espinoza, Amahl Pellegrino and Jeremy Ebobisse. We’ll take the long shot on a Quakes road win, something they’ve only done once in 2024.
